I began writing lyrics in 1985. A few of these survive. I didn't know how to play any instruments yet, but could hear my songs in my head. The music was sometimes extremely derivative of songs I'd heard by other artists. When I explained my ideas to friends, they'd say, "that sounds like this song, or that band."
"Gettin' Out" was one title (which was molded by a Scorpions song),
"Car Stereo" was another; I can't remember others at this time.
